Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his home with community service. His first family is that Selmon is the eldest of nine kids raised in Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award for being the nation's best lineman. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. As a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third year in the year 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Also, he began his career in the field of business. He was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds in the time he played football at college. The year 1975 was the first time he led the group. In 1993, he was a part of the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
