Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist. She is often featured on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. She was meteorologist for local stations in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to moving to CNN. She's reported on every aspect of hurricanes, blizzards as well as flooding and wildfires. She received the Emmy award for her coverage of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in the year 2019. The coverage she provided of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, in which over 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States over a time period of four days, 200 of these that occurred on the 27th of April was also nominated for an Emmy. The experience she has gained in the field of environmental science has allowed her to cover stories concerning climate change, as well as natural catastrophes like volcanoes, earthquakes and other. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of numerous organizations, such as that of American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
